The contributions of major national and international authors (i.e. Achelis, Caparrelli, Fornasini, Murphy, Pring) are selected, integrated, and collected in a unicum which, besides promoting the individual operative aspects, aims to highlight the principles and the rules of a general character.

In addition, in order to favour a full comprehension of the subject, and to verify its validity, it has carried out a complete analysis of one of the most important stock index in the world, the S&P 500: from its first year of virtual life (1928) to nowadays (2007).

To such aim it has been decisive the pluriennal experience of dr. Igor Laurelli as independent analyst and trader on the main international derivatives markets (CME Globex, e-CBOT, Eurex, Nymex).
